Early this afternoon the United States Senate, by voice vote, confirmed Deborah Matz as a member of the NCUA's three-member Board. Matz is Chairman designee, and replaces Republican Michael E. Fryzell in that position. Fryzel's term on the NCUA Board expires August 2, 2013. Republican Board member Rodney Hood now leaves, and Democrat Gigi Hyland remains. Matz previously served on the NCUA Board from 2002 to 2005. Subsequently, she became EVP and CEO of a Maryland credit union. Her term on the NCUA Board will end in April of 2015.
