LA Times: Fewer Car Loans in Future?

The Filene Research Institute's CU Tomorrow blog comments on an article in the October 8th issue of the Los Angeles Times. In "Rebel Without a Car" the Times makes the observation that the popularity of social media and reality of the economy make translate into next generations of credit union members reconsidering the need to own cars. As example, Japan is "de-motorizing" due to the cost of gas and social media reducing the need to physically congregate.
