Today, Vermont Congressman Peter Welch stands before the House chamber to solicit support for the interchange provisions contained in the Durbin amendment to the Financial Services Reform bill. Welch wants to reduce the interchange merchants pay to credit unions and others that goes to support card issuance, increasing cases of data breach and fraudulent transactions and all of the related expenses of EFT that credit unions bear.
