Credit union members in the United States are more positive about their personal finances than non-members, according to a Discover Financial Services (DFS) survey reported in the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.
According to Discover's U.S. Spending Monitor, 38% of credit union members rate their personal finances as excellent or good, vs. 30% of the non-credit union group. Only 17% of the credit union group said their finances were poor, compared with 29% of those who didn't belong to a credit union. However, the survey found that everyone views the overall economy as declining.
A total of more than 8,000 people were polled in the Discover survey, 2,500 of which reported being credit union members. View the article in entirety at http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20101027-700037.html
