Filmmaker Michael Moore is encouraging consumers to take their money out of banks and put it into credit unions. He posted a list of 15 things every American can do to fix what he considers "a broken system" on his website this week. The film director just released, "Capitalism: A Love Story." Since its release, Moore told the Examiner newspaper, he has been asked by viewers what they can do to help. At the top of Moore's list of five things Americans can do to protect themselves and their loved ones was to take money out of any bank that took bailout money and move it to a “locally owned bank or, preferably, a credit union. He links to CUNA’s credit union locator page. Besides his most recent film, the controversial film maker is known for movies such as "Roger and Me," "Fahrenheit 9/11," "Bowling for Columbine," and "Sicko."
