Public Relations: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

on 2:51 PM

Solid public relations are a good way to garner attention for your cooperative, but if done wrong can be at best ineffective or at worst a disaster. As marketing budgets grow even slimmer, you can bolster your efforts through a strong PR strategy. On January 19th at 2:00 pm ET the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) will host Public Relations: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly . . .a webinar to learn how to develop a 2010 PR plan for your cooperative. This session runs through the ins and outs and ups and downs of what journalists are looking for, and what they are not looking for, in order to give you the best shot of making headlines.

The featured speaker, Sarah Snell Cooke, served as editor-in-chief of Credit Union Times for more than two years. Prior to that, Cooke covered the Washington, D.C. news beat for Credit Union Times for seven years. Before joining the Times’ staff, she wrote for the Credit Union Regulatory Insider newsletter. Cooke earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in political science and a minor in journalism from McDaniel College (then Western Maryland College) in Westminster, Md.

NCBA members can attend this Webinar free of charge; non-members can attend for $20. Click here to register.
