Former NCUA Chair Now State Regulator

on 1:25 PM

Earlier today, former NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson was appointed to head the state of Iowa's credit union agency. She replaces long-time director James Forney, who is retiring.

Johnson is a former state senator in Iowa, and is best known in credit union circles for having served on the NCUA Board from 2002 to 2008, the last four years of which as chairman. Iowa Governor Terry Branstad announced today that he also submitted Johnson's name to fill a four-year term that would begin in May. Johnson will supervise Iowa’s 125 state chartered credit unions.
