on 10:45 AM

The Vermont Community Foundation has announced the availability of grants for Vermont non-profit organizations affected by Tropical Storm Irene. Applications and details are available online. Organizations may apply for up to $5,000 to support repair and recovery for damage sustained from the storm or to cover increased demand for services being provided to those affected by the storm. Applicants must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or be a public agency or municipality in the state of Vermont. Other organizations or community groups may apply if another tax-exempt organization acts as a fiscal sponsor. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and grant decisions are made within two weeks of the submission date.
