Do coops ever come to mind when you see those television commercials for nationwide restaurant chains? Next time you're having that Grand Slam breakfast at Denny's you may well be supporting a cooperative. Denny's announced earlier this year that it wants to get in on the benefits of cooperatives by forming a purchasing cooperatives among its franchise owners in order to increase their buying power. Other large scale chain restaurants like KFC and Pizza Hut are already members of purchasing cooperatives. Purchasing cooperatives allow both small and large scale businesses alike to pool resources to buy in bulk.
