July 2018: Google to Name/Shame non-HTTPS Websites

on 9:40 AM

As reported by CU Today, in July the Google Chrome browser will discloses every site that does not use HTTPS encryption as "not secure." HTTPS, or Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure, better secures client/server communications by making SSL/TLS encryption the default protocol for accessing all pages on a site. It helps prevent outsiders from eavesdropping on communications or launching man-in-the-middle attacks.
